Launched by legendary ironman, Trevor Hendy, the inaugural Saltwater Festival will feature an action-packed program of world-class ocean sports, beach and field events, live music and local food. The world’s top professionals will compete alongside amateur and social competitors in all the traditional ‘Aloha’ style paddle sports such as stand-up board paddling, ocean ski/kayaking, oceanboard paddling and outriggers, as well as surfing, kite surfing, Thunder Cat racing and surfboat racing. On land, there will be beach volleyball, touch football, hockey, beach flags, beach springs and the Element X kid’s race, while the foreshore will host market and food stalls plus free live music concerts.

The Wintersun Festival is a 10 day annual retro nostalgia festival featuring more than 1500 pre-1974 hot rod, classic, and custom cars in driving events and static display.

There will be 100 bands and performers playing Rock and Roll, Rockabilly, Swing, Concept and Tribute. Performers are from every State in Australia as well as international acts. Also enjoy market stalls featuring all things retro as well as traditional markets, fairground, Street Parades and lots of family fun.

More than 75,000 people attend this event which has been running since 1988 so put on your dancing shoes, turn back the clock and remember when the good times rolled!

Circuit racing through the main street of Murwillumbah by classic racing vehicles from past grand prix eras.

Speed on Tweed has attracted many legendary drivers over the years, including Sir Jack Brabham, Vern Schuppan, Frank Gardner, Jim Richards, Kevin Bartlett, Dick Johnson and John Goss.

Sir Jack’s Repco-Brabham was one of many grand prix cars to have graced Murwillumbah’s streets, along with numerous Bathurst winners, Le Mans sports cars and many others that told the story of Australia’s motor racing history.

The non-profit event also raised more than $160,000, which has been given to national charities such as the Childrens Cancer Institute, the Peter Brock Foundation, service clubs, schools emergency services and hospitals.

Double Up New Years Eve
